You will be experienced in working with “hand tools” in a manufacturing or maintenance environment and be comfortable operating in confined / hard-to-access spaces. The length of the working day could vary according to scheduling and the locations of the trains but should average out to 40 hours per week. Mileage will be paid at approved rates if you have your own transport.

My client is a leading manufacturer of rubber to metal bonded components, rubber mouldings, anti-roll bar and traction centre assemblies. Their strength lies in providing the complete package beginning with design concept right through to final delivery and subsequent servicing. They work across the railway, commercial vehicle, industrial, electrical, wind turbine and leisure sectors. They maintain ISO 9001:2008 & Railway Industry Supplier Qualification Scheme (RISQS) certification as well as being one of a small number of UK companies to hold IRIS certification.
My client has a large-scale refurbishment project in the railway industry applying sealant to anti-roll bar components on trains. The large number of trains involved will mean the successful candidate must travel to various locations around the outskirts of London according to a carefully planned timetable. Punctuality and reliability are, therefore, of the utmost importance. In some weeks the scheduling of the work will mean that there will be days spent at head office near Littlehampton.
The project duration is expected to be about 3 months but could well be longer once the scheduling of works is finalised. There could also be opportunities to work on other contracts once this one is completed.
